Sharing Smiles with Vets

Grandma Sally

Senior Companions - Wayne County

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Volunteers are the backbone of our team here in the Senior Programs department at MCHS Family of Services in Wayne County, much like veterans are the backbone of this country. Sally has been volunteering with children and adults in the community for 15 years! Currently, she works closely with veterans offering friendship and understanding to their unique circumstances.
“Sally has an intangible quality that puts others at ease, which is essential for a healthcare organization. She is extremely personable and each person she meets feels as though she is a friend. We are glad to have her on our team.” – William Brown, Chief of Volunteer and Community Relations at Detroit VA Medical Center.
Thank you for your dedication and service, Sally!
