Senior Companions - Northeast Counties of MI

Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency serving the 12 counties of northeast Michigan is proud to announce their Senior Companion Program is in full swing with the last of the volunteer stations returning their volunteers to service following COVID shutdowns. All five Senior Companions presented to orientation at Medilodge of Rogers City the end of April and began service the same day. Pictured from left to right are Senior Companion volunteers Doreen Parish, Mary Rice, Pam Nickel, Garnett Ellis, Gertrude Clark and seated is Helen Eagleson. Regarding her return to service, Pam said “it’s great to be back, it’s pretty lonely when all you have is your refrigerator and recliner”. As for the Medilodge residents, they couldn’t wait to return to regular card games and visits with their companions.
