Mary Edna Hutchinson, 84, has been a remarkable volunteer in the Senior Companion Program of  the Traverse City area for over 22 years! She says the visits are as important to her as to her clients. “It has added so much to my life. I do it to meet new people and to help the world move a little smoother. People don’t always have control of their lives and this helps them to gain some of the control back.” Mary Edna is always willing to lend a helping hand to other volunteers, whether it be providing transportation to volunteers who need a ride to     in-services, being a mentor to newly trained volunteers, or offering tips and wisdom to all. Mary Edna is a huge asset to the Senior Companion Program of Northwest Michigan!
