Stories of Service

Karen Shaffer is a lady who continues to go above and beyond for all of her clients. Karen has been with the Senior Companion Program since May of 2002. Karen visits with four clients who still reside in their homes and then she also visits a couple clients who reside in a local Nursing Home. Karen takes her clients out shopping, to doctor appointments and for meals. She is a volunteer who does anything in her power to make sure that her clients and fellow volunteers are taken care of, and have what they need. She also serves as the Treasurer and the Sunshine Lady for the Gratiot County Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs. We are very proud of Karen and are very glad to have her as part of our team. Keep up the GREAT work and keep smiling.
