Johnnie Richardson has been a part of the Foster Grandparent Program for 16 years and will be celebrating her 90th birthday in March. Johnnie has been the grandma in Mrs. Epple’s classroom for 16 years and no other grandparent in program history has been with the same teacher for that long. There is a reason why they have been together for 16 years. Mrs. Epple stated, “God has had a hand in bringing us together. Thankfully, Johnnie walked through my classroom door 16 years ago. “ Beyond Mrs. Epple, all the students (past and present) at West Intermediate are also very thankful for Grandma Johnnie. When she misses a day, there is an overwhelming sadness. Thank you Grandma Johnnie for your dedication to the Foster Grandparent Program and to the students and staff of West Intermediate. You are one in a million!
